Verbal
Compliments - Powerful Communicators of Love.
Mark Twain once said, "I
can live for two months on a
good compliment." Good for Mark Twain,
but I don't know many husbands and
wives who can survive on six compliments
a year. Charlie Sheed once said that he
had given his wife a different compliment
every day for 30 years. How do you
come up with that many? Well, one
day you say "Your left eye looks
beautiful, and the next day you say,
"Your right eye is beautiful."
Now let's not get carried away. But
why not?
Solomon, author of the ancient
Hebrew wisdom literature, wrote, "The
tongue has the power of life and
death." Many couples have never learned
the tremendous power of verbally affirming
each other. Solomon further wrote, "An
anxious heart weighs a man down, but
a kind word cheers him up." Try these:
"You look nice in that dress."
"Ahh do you look tough tonight."
Verbal compliments, are powerful communicators
of love.
